Ford is eliminating the Fusion lineup, with the exception of the all-new Ford Fusion Active Wagon. This lifted, all-wheel-drive version of the Fusion is more wagon-like and less sedan and is sure to turn heads. Get to know the new 2022 Ford Fusion Active.

Power

After only seeing a few sneak peeks and not a lot of information coming out of Ford, it’s time to venture guesses on the 2022 Ford Fusion Active, modeled after the European Mondeo. A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission will more than likely power this new version of the Fusion. There’s also talk of a potential six-cylinder. The new Fusion is likely to offer a front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive option, as well as a plug-in hybrid, keeping with Ford’s current lineup options.

Style

The 2022 Ford Fusion Active appears to have a midsize SUV shape with a roof that slopes much like a hatchback. It also seems to offer a higher ground clearance, providing the Fusion Active with a sportier feel. This isn’t your typical sedan. The Fusion is now built more like a wagon, offering a distinctive style. Rumor has it that there will be a large display, potentially spanning the entire width of the dashboard.
