Huntington WV Museums to Visit

If you’re a history buff or just enjoy beautiful art, there are several amazing museums in Huntington, West Virginia, that will delight you.

Huntington Museum of Art  

Opened in 1952, the Huntington Museum of Art is a public museum and cultural center. Stroll through the museum to see their permanent collections that include European and American paintings, sculptures, and prints, natural history prints, decorative glass, folk art, ceramics, prayer rugs, Asian decorative objects, antique firearms, and more. In addition to their permanent displays, the museum also hosts traveling exhibits. Sign up for one of the museum’s workshops or classes to get hands-on and explore your inner creativity.

The Huntington Museum of Art is located at 2033 McCoy Road. It is open Sunday from 12-5 p.m., and Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m to 12 p.m., and 1-5 p.m.

Museum of Radio and Technology

Take a walk through the Museum of Radio and Technology to learn about antique radios and how they have changed throughout history. The museum is home to exhibits that include displays of console radios, antique radios, Cathedral radios, ham equipment, test equipment, and military communications equipment. You’ll also find vintage hi-fi, vintage amateur transmitters and receivers, a vinyl record collection, vintage computers, and a technical library.

Museum of Radio and Technology is located at 1640 Florence Avenue. It is open Sunday from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
