After a long and cold winter, we start itching to get outdoors and enjoy some warm sunshine. Wayne County, West Virginia, has great outdoor activities available for all different ages and interests. Here are two ways to get outside this spring in Wayne County.
Camp Out at the East Lynn Lake Wildlife Management Area
The East Lynn Lake Wildlife Management Area features primitive campsites for natural camping and tons of room to explore. Plan a weekend in nature as the weather warms up and enjoy springtime with wildlife. Stop by the visitor’s center to get information on hiking, fishing, and more. Hit the trails for some exercise and exploration and get out on the water in a kayak or fishing boat. The options for enjoyment are abundant.
Take the Family to Camden Park
Camden Park has been around since 1903. It’s grown over the years from a simple picnic area to a full-blown amusement park loaded with fun rides and attractions. Little ones can enjoy time in Kiddie Land with smaller rides, safe for younger visitors. Two roller coasters, the Lil’ Dipper and the Big Dipper, are favorites of local visitors. There are also several spinning rides, swings, and even a water ride for hot days.
The park opens for the season in May with weekend hours throughout the month. Open hours change throughout the summer to allow for longer days at the park as it warms up. Check out season pass options for unlimited fun.
Don’t miss out on the warm, inviting days of spring. Start making your plans now and soak up all the sun you can.
