Are you looking for a unique outdoor location to visit near Lavalette? Then make your way to the Heritage Farm Museum and Village. It’s a great place to learn about history and get outside to enjoy some fresh air.

Step Back in Time

At the Heritage Farm Museum and Village, you’ll take a step back in time to explore various crafts. During demonstrations at the blacksmith shop, visitors will see how objects like horseshoes are made. You can also explore the pioneer-style Conway Homestead. The homestead served as a filming location for the History Channel documentary “America’s Greatest Feud: Hatfields and McCoys.”

Treehouse Trek

Several animal species call the farm home, and you’ll see them from a unique perspective when you walk over them during your Treehouse Trek. The course begins behind the nature center and takes you over 750 feet across a series of wooden bridges that are 60 feet in the air. Your destination is the expansive treehouse that offers breathtaking views. It’s also home to several educational programs.

If you’re not a fan of heights, enjoy the trek to the treehouse as you wind through the path on the ground. Keep your eyes open for all types of natural beauty along the way.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water as you explore the property. Currently, the property is only operating at 40% capacity to allow for social distancing. The staff wear masks and deep cleans the property for safety several times a day.
