- Memorial Arch
The citizens of Cabell County have a long history of stepping up to serve in the United States Armed Forces. As you enjoy the historical sites in Huntington, make your way to the Memorial Arch. It’s 42 feet high and made from Indiana limestone. This beautiful tribute to the fallen from World War I is on Memorial Park Drive near the east entrance to Memorial Park.
- Heritage Station
The history of the railroad has deep roots in Huntington. Explore it as you spend time at Heritage Station at 210 11th St. Follow the posted guidelines as you explore some of the trains and equipment used when the station served the B&0 Railroad. After you finish exploring the trains outside, head indoors and enjoy a wide variety of shops and local restaurants. If you’re looking for a unique location to host a celebration, you can rent the wheelchair-accessible patio.
- St. Joseph’s Church
If you’re a fan of unique and historic buildings, make a trip to St. Joseph’s Church at 1304 6th Ave. in Huntington. The church’s history dates back to October 27, 1872, when Reverand Father Thomas Quirk presided over the first mass. It’s still an active church with mass held seven days a week.
